My stay at Hotel Arena was a mixed bag. I loved the historical charm and beautiful location adjacent to Oosterpark, which offered a peaceful atmosphere. However, my experience with the check-in procedures was disappointing, and I was frustrated with the staff's initial lack of help. While the breakfast options were wonderful, my room's layout lacked practicality, making it challenging to settle in comfortably.

My stay at Hotel Arena was quite enjoyable, with a beautiful location next to Oosterpark and an interesting historical ambiance. However, a few cleanliness and service hiccups dampened what could have been a perfect experience. Overall, I appreciated the unique design and quality of the dining options, but I did face some challenges with room maintenance and staff interactions.

Rooms
7.0
The room was modern and aesthetically pleasing, but I encountered some issues with cleanliness and design practicality. The unique split-level design added character, but also made it a bit awkward to use the amenities effectively.
Service

While most staff members were lovely and helpful, a couple of service missteps impacted my overall satisfaction. There were some delays in housekeeping and a lack of attentiveness at check-in and check-out.

I loved the location next to Oosterpark, offering a peaceful atmosphere and easy access to trams for exploring the city. It felt like a local neighborhood, which was a nice change from the busy city center.
Dining

The dining experience was generally good, with a buffet that had a great variety, although slightly on the pricey side. The quality of the food was impressive, particularly during the New Year's Eve dinner, which was a highlight of my stay.

The facilities met my needs, including a well-equipped restaurant and bar area, though I experienced some inefficiencies with service. The hotel also provided a luggage storage facility, which was convenient.

I had a decent stay at Hotel Arena, thanks to its beautiful location next to Oosterpark and a stylish interior. However, the unexpected extra fees for the deposit and tax really caught me off guard, and I was disappointed by the cleanliness issues in my room. While I loved the scenic views, I encountered some service hiccups that made my experience less enjoyable.

Rooms
6.0
The rooms had unique split-level designs which I found interesting, but I experienced some issues with cleanliness. In my first room, there was a leaking shower, and I had to switch to a different room that was much better. Despite being charming, the room lacked proper cleanliness on a few occasions.
Service
5.0
While the staff was generally helpful when I needed to change rooms quickly, I felt the overall service could have been better. There were moments during my stay when the reception lacked warmth, and they repeatedly disturbed my late check-out time.

The hotel offered a range of facilities, but I faced some inconvenience with the housekeeping schedule and cleanliness in my room. While the bar area was great for relaxing, improvements are needed in room upkeep.

However, I did encounter some issues with the cleanliness of my room and the heating, which slightly detracted from my overall enjoyment.

Rooms

While the room was aesthetically pleasing and clean, it did have issues with heating, leaving it quite cold during my stay. The split-level design was unique, but it might not be practical for everyone.
